FWIW - the guys on the Bootleg, Stanford's Scout.com board comparable to Purple
Reign, were very happy to see Willingham leave.
He's apparently not easy to work with if you are the press that he doesn't want
to talk to and kept everything very close to his vest. I just happened to be
with the Stanford guys when Willingham left Stanford, and there was a bit of a
feeling by them that he got out of town before his stock slipped any more with
the Cardinal alumni.
I'm sure someone will find statistics to prove that he did a fabulous job at
Stanford, but remember that he was not the first or even the 2nd choice for the
job at N**** D***.
