[NU Sports] Non-con scheduling

What's the greater benefit for fans and for recruiting?  Scheduling cupcakes 
so that we make a bowl every year (a la Minnesota), or scheduling quality 
opponents like TCU and ASU, so that we get more games on national 
television?

As an alum who lives out of state, I love the fact that so many of our games 
are on the ESPN networks. It's doubtful that a non-conference game against 
New Mexico State would have a prayer of being televised, even on GamePlan.  
Of course, I also want us to make a bowl game, and clearly, our tough 
non-conference schedule bit us in the butt this year.  So I'm torn.

Any thoughts?
