[NU Sports] Non-conference play

Since the Wildcats' non-conference performance is what cost them
a bowl game, I took a look at Randy Walker's record outside the
BigTen:  His W-L record is 10-12 (including bowl games).

Five of those victories are over Duke, and none of the others are
very impressive.

Is it possible that RW is tailoring his recruiting and/or coaching to
the Big Ten style of play, and putting us at a disadvantage when
we play outside the conference?  Any thoughts?
