[NU Sports] Not enough bowl-eligible teams?

I don't think that is going to be an issue. MAC teams are going to show up
in bowls all over the country. There are about 6 MAC teams bowl eligible
and the MAC only has two tie-ins. There are also bowl eligible teams in
both the WAC and Sun Belt beyond the couple of bowls the leagues are tied
to. It's going to be a banner year for the coalition conferences.

Subject: [NU Sports] Not enough bowl-eligible teams?

ABC mentioned at one point today that at the moment there aren't enough
bowl-eligible teams to fill all the bowl games.

What happens if that's still the case in a week?

Would the NCAA:

A. Tell some bowl games they can't play? (Yeah, right!)
B. Declare all 6-6 teams bowl-eligible? (That might not be enough.)
C. Allow some teams with a losing record to be bowl-eligible?
D. Ask Clemson and S. Carolina to reconsider their decision to skip bowls?

If (C), how would they decide what teams got bowl bids? Would they
let the bowls without teams pick teams?
