[NU Sports] Bulls, Bears and Wildcats

Ok, let's digress quickly away from the Chicago sports market and make an
analogy to the financial markets.

During a Bull market, stocks don't go straight up, but rather have periodic
corrections (e.g. Wheeler tragedy, recruiting swings, injuries, etc). NU
football lows haven't been as low when Barnett was still here and now we are
starting to create some traditions (such as having a 1000 yard rusher every
year, a never quit reputation, always protecting the ball, solid
linebackers, etc.). Creating positive traditions takes years.

Also, analyst sentiment (the bull/bear ratio) changes during the bull
market, going from very bearish (start of a bull market) to very bullish
(when it's peaked).

I think there are some similarities in an athletic program becoming more
competitive and winning more. Clearly, we still have a few bears left on the
list, but I expect that is normal. Personally, I hope this bull market lasts
a long time and I'm willing to hold on through the corrections. No
correction desired this Saturday though.

My hat is off to Walker.extend his contract.

Go CATS! Come out clawing Sat.!

PS. The WILDCATS are a description unto themselves. They haven't stampeded
to victory, but they clearly haven't hibernated either. Something that ties
cardiac resuscitation and nine lives together would adequately describe this
team. I guess a "Wild-Cat" is fitting. J
