I for one would be very sorry to see him go.
I consider last year and this year to be back-to-back "successful"
seasons. Not spectacular, but successful. I more than got my money's
worth on season tix, and we have a shot at the 3rd bowl game in RW's 5
years. Also, the team has made singificant improvements from last year
(except perhaps with the kicking game), and looks poised to do well
again next year.
Looking at the graduation analysis from that Stanford site, it seems
clear to me that RW has done things the right way, and has managed a
reasonable degree of success while doing it. Sure, it'd be fun to be
competing on a level with Oklahoma, LSU, etc., but given that top level
on-field performance and high graduation rates seem to be almost
mutually exclusive, I don't think it is a realistic expectation.
It would not be too soon to look at extending RW's contract IMO.
