Excellent points.  The abiliity to put less competitive teams away early 
and get your second and third string kids into the game is what allows 
teams like Michigan and OSU to reload every year rather than rebuild.  
At the end of the Michigan game, the Michigan subs moved the ball pretty 
well against our first string.
