Well, here is the answer to the earlier question: Yes, the bowl
committees CAN "justify" picking someone ahead of us. However, their
attempts at justification are likely to be somewhat fanciful and,
frankly, a bit creepy. 

Fortunately, the Sun Bowl always has been, and remains, dead last on my
personal list of desirable destinations among the Big Ten-associated
bowls.
