Aw, those West Texicans are almost New Mexicans - wadda they know.

Actually, I think Murphy knew we were not going to El Paso all the time, which
is why he wasn't excited about our chances there.

Right now, NU has to win on Saturday [early Sunday for us mainlanders].

Everything else is just idle speculation and food for the "hot stove league"
discussions.

Here's an excerpt.

The Sun Bowl committee did consider Northwestern, even though it would have had
to wait until Saturday to see if the Wildcats can become bowl eligible by
winning at Hawaii
"It was a hard decision initially because of the consideration given to
Northwestern having beaten Purdue," Folmer said. "Historically we've always
taken the team that has done that.

"However, in this case, having Kyle Orton back, who still holds the passing
records for our game, and the fact that he's playing well, we voted to select
Purdue.

"Purdue is like family here and Joe Tiller has done such an outstanding job. And
the people of El Paso will be proud to have them back. The committee is excited
to have them back."

Well, we're excited that we don't have to go to El Paso. Purdue is like family?
Give me a break. And they can have Orton. He put up some numbers but the guy
proved this year that he can't win a big game.
