[NU Sports] 6-6 seasons

Three teams I follow closely -- Northwestern, Notre Dame and UCLA -- all 
finished 6-6 this season.  I can't help but wonder:  what's better (or 
more humiliating) -- finishing 6-6 as we did, without going to a bowl; 
OR finishing 6-6 after going to a minor bowl and getting embarrassed by 
Wyoming or Oregon State?  I know Notre Dame and UCLA fans are not too 
happy right now, feeling as if it would have been better not to have 
gone at all.

And speaking of UCLA, some of the Bruins' similarities with Northwestern 
are worth noting:  both finished 6-7 in 2003 and 6-6 in 2004.  Both have 
QBs who began starting as freshmen (Brett Basanez and Drew Olson) and 
who have been getting progressively better.  And both of these two QBs 
wear number 14.  Then again, maybe I should have left out this second 
paragraph!
