I'd strongly disagree with that -- yeah, he wasn't Mr. Popularity and made
a lot of decisions I didn't agree with.

But he was the person NU *needed* at the time -- in order to move the
athletic department into the modern ages. He did a nice job upgrading
facilities, increasing efficiency and restoring order to what had been a
big ole mess up on Central Street. He did the little things that needed to
be done. Now we're able to move on with a more PR-friendly AD to build on
Rick's foundation.

And I'll say again, missing Amaker wasn't a big deal, IMO. He doesn't
strike me as a coach who would consider NU a destination -- just a stepping
stone. I'm quite happy with Coach Carmody.
