[NU Sports] time and money

I think that while high ticket prices might cause some
problems for some people, esp. families, I don't think
$$$ is the reason our games are poorly attended. The
season tickets are a steal and the end zone prices
seem very fair.
Also, anyone who's been to Dyche knows that you can
buy reasonably-priced tickets from people selling
outside the stadium. My group of 5 wound up at the
35-yard-line for Illinois buying the tickets from a
nice older man at about 10:45 or so at 1/2 face value.
But let me EMPHACTICALLY chime in that the 11 a.m.
starts are just killers. They make going to away games
a dawn-patrol proposition and even at home, it's too
early. For NU fans such as I who travel to home games
1-2 times a year from a distance (Philadelphia in my
case) I make a whole weekend out of it and it annoys
me that my Friday night activities have to be tempered
by the knowledge that I have to get up so early to get
to the game. And for college students, 11 a.m. IS
dawn. I imagine many people feel the same way.
This will never change though; colleges are absolute
whores for TV and will do anything ESPN/ABC wants (San
Jose State's 9 a.m. start comes to mind), though I do
remember Penn State refusing to switch a Homecoming
game to a later start because it would screw up the
larger Homecoming schedule. At least, other than the
Goophers' baseball-related screwups, the Big Ten
hasn't inflicted Tuesday or Thursday football on us.
Yet.
