I can confirm Jim Bendat's report on the Comcast channel's story. Comcast ran the story and NU's shootdown of the rumor again this morning. The statement was unequivocal. The Comcast reporter stated that the statement came "seemingly within seconds" of Walker's name being mentioned as an ND candidate.
Why isn't it on NU's site (yet)? Don't know, other than that they may have been responding to a specific inquiry and didn't wish to give the denial more publicity than the rumor had to start with. That's only a guess, obviously.
