[NU Sports] Bowl eligibility

On that note, I don't think anyone has mentioned the following
yet--from Mark Murphy's latest post on nusports.com:

"Interestingly, prior to the Hawaii game we had petitioned the NCAA for
a ruling that we should be bowl eligible even if we lost to Hawaii
because we were not using the 12th game to be bowl eligible, but the
NCAA denied our petition."

Too bad--it certainly would have brought the graduation rate average
for bowl teams up by a quite a bit. I'm not sure we "deserved" to be in
a bowl game, but we probably deserved it as much if not more than many
of the other 6-5 times that are in bowls this year.
