> The 1933 team was the end of a string of 6 years in which NU outscored their opponents 698-332 en route to a 29-17-4 record. For comparison, this year's team scored 295 points and gave up 342 en route to 6-6.

Scoring 698 points over 50 games means they were averaging just under
14 points per game.

Looking at all of the games in 1-A for the last several decades, the
average score has been creeping up over the years. In the 70's it was
around 20, now it's around 26.

I think the overtime rule is a factor in this. Though the average has
been creeping up slowly for over 30 years, it jumped by 2 points per
game the year the overtime rule went in.

The Cats contribted more than their share to that effect this year. :-)
