FWIW, the Chicago Trib story did indicate that Willingham was contacted
by Washington, and that he had turned them down. While I like the idea
of ND being afraid of actually losing a coach, I doubt that was really
what was at work here. The Trib also mentioned that Willingham had been
receiving death threats. 

Some people apparently have lost track of the fact that it's just a
game.
