You don't think that could be the case under past coaches like Osborne 
as well?  He certainly had players who had a reputation for not being
able to hold on to the ball and/or for throwing too many INTs.  TM
just happens to be in both groups, 

In part because of that, I suspect that when the book is closed on his 
Nebraska years he is not going to be put in the same category as 
QBs like Turner Gill or Tommy Frazier, but with players like Mike Grant
(among others.)

I don't think it is at all coincidental that quite a few teams ranked 
towards the top of the NCAA's turnover margin for 2012 are also ones that 
were highly ranked.  Here are the top 15:

Oregon, Boise State, Kansas State, Kent State, LSU, Miss. State,
Florida, Fresno State, Ohio, Louisiana Tech, Northwestern, SMU,
Alabama, Iowa, Pittsburgh.

Iowa may be the biggest clunker on that list, as I think they may be 
the only one that didn't go to a bowl game.
