[Husker] My wishes for the new year...

I think Bill Callahan was completely overrated as a recruiter. Yes, he did recruit Ndamukong Suh. Eric Hagg and Prince Amukamara were his recruits as well.
But Dejon Gomes and Alfonzo Dennard were not. Lavonte David wasn't either.
And on offense, his best recruit was Roy Helu. Niles Paul was probably coming to Nebraska no matter what he did. Callahan's best quarterback was Joe Ganz, who seemed to be an afterthought at best to Callahan. Compare our offensive talent to what Callahan assembled, and I think people are being rather selective in their perceptions of Bill Callahan.
I'm not going to whitewash Pelini's recruiting issues in 2010 and 2011, but I will point out that he changed recruiting coordinators on the 2011 signing day. We'll find out this fall whether these were good changes or not, because Pelini will have almost no choice but to play guys who were in the 2012 class because there aren't a lot of other options on the defensive line.

I'm not sure we really want to know the answer to that. Remember, John
Blake was on staff for a couple of years.
