The Harvard casebooks are full of examples of managers who stayed around 
too long.  (It's almost a truism in organizational theory.)

There's an interesting article on the Washington Post website today about
another manager who some say stayed in office too long--Pope Benedict XVI.

I thought Devaney stayed on the job as AD too long, I'm not as convinced
that Osborne did.
