> Worth the drive up. Best crowd in a longtime for me.
The crowd was dead in the first half. There was a guy a couple
of rows behind us (in the faculty section, which is pretty
lethargic) who was standing up. I guess the people behind
him complained, so the usher came, the guy wouldn't agree to
sit, so the usher brought the police. The police took him
away, but in the third quarter brought him back and told the
people behind him that he could stand if he wanted to (which
elicited a little clapping from others). I remarked that if
the game was better, everyone would be standing (although I
looked back during an exciting part of the game and the
complainers were still sitting).
Just as I was thinking that the game reminded me of the Texas
20-13 loss to Texas in the last Big 12 game with them, it
turned into something more like the Ohio State game (but
without the feeling that the other team imploded). The
crowd was pretty good in the second half. Some on the field
said it was as loud as it gets. That said, it seemed to me
that the crowds energy wasn't as sustained, even in the second
half, as it has seemed in some past games.
Still, it was well worth the price of admission (unlike the game
last week that I left before the first half was finished).
