After losing in Lawrence by 56. Jim Kubacki hits the winner with two
seconds remaining. Nine days later the Huskers knocked off KSU, which
went to the Final Four that year.
The loudest crowd I can remember from my days at NU was when Michigan
came to town in 1965. Fred Hare hit the winner, throwing it up backwards
over his head. Cip had some good teams in the sixties, but they had to
win the conference to get to the NCAA tournament, and they could never
quite do it.
