OK first off - Yes, Fox Sports Net has some regional production facilities. I know of one in Houston as the Royals use that for their baseball telecasts (when last I heard). There might be one or two more most likely in Atlanta and New York but I'm not totally certain on this.

Root Sports and Comcast get feeds from FOX just like your cable system does so yes it's possible there could be one or two more "hops" before it gets to you if you have access to one of these sports networks.

As for the Lincoln stations - as I understand it KLIN (1400 AM) was synchronizing with Time-Warner cable in Lincoln. While their low power FM (94.5 FM) is left to go real time so that those in the stadium were hearing what was happening as the play unfolded in front of them.

KFAB broadcasts in High Definition so for them to do a sync up with COX or whomever they would have to turn off their HD feed and sync the analog feed. I think they tried this once last season but I've not heard of them doing it again. Regarding HD, you have to sync the analog feed to the HD feed and have them match otherwise (if you have an HD radio) and the signal dropped you would be bouncing back and forth several seconds with the analog being ahead of the HD feed.
