[Husker] Pelini is not better than both of the last 2 coaches, IMHO

I too wished Solich was treated better, but speaking of character, do listers just give him a mulligan regarding his being passed out drunk in a running vehicle? That's kind of a big deal if you ask me, whether he was "poisoned" or not as some have suggested. I would have never even thought about this again if someone didn't bring up Pelini's "character" when making comparisons to previous coaches.

I liked Frank, and I thought he deserved another year, but when your AD clearly hates you, the writing is on the wall.
I've often said that Osborne didn't do Frank any big favors when Tom convinced all of the assistant coaches to commit to stay several seasons after Tom retired. I think Frank needed to decide on his own what his coaching staff should be.
But I just didn't think Frank had the drive to take the Huskers to a national championship, and there were rumors about his personal life that were unsettling.
I don't think anyone doubts that Bo has the drive, but it took Osborne
20 years to win a national championship and coaches at schools that want to be elite probably don't get that long any more. (And there were several times during Osborne's first 20 years that a number of Husker fans would have willingly fired him.)

Callahan had one personality trait that IMHO is unacceprable for a head coach, NOTHING was ever his fault! Read his post-game statements after losses, he never took responsibility for any of them! Sorry, dude, if you want to sit in the big chair and get the big bucks, you have to take the responsibility too.
