[Husker] NU vs UCLA

That's because the vast majority of Husker fans were seated in the end zones and in the corners (we were in the NE corner), 20-30 yards from the back of the end zone. The way the Rose Bowl is laid out (very flat) you could yell your lungs out, very little of the noise propagates onto the field. The UCLA students and fans all sit between the 20's and are much, much closer to the field/players. That said, it's a very scenic place to play (and watch) a game, but not very noisy.
BTW - I haven't watched the replay on TV yet, did anyone see the PeeWee League game they played at halftime? (I'm NOT kidding, it was Baldwin Hills vs some other LA area team). Just before that I commented to my girlfriend that the whole atmosphere reminded me of the carnival atmosphere at a minor league baseball game (you know, where every inning they have activities on the field with little kids...). And then they played a game at halftime with 6 year olds!! I'm sure it was pretty cool for the kids but it seemed very "high school-ish" to me!
