Getting back to the original subject matter, I'd agree with Dave.  We saw
four good backs this week, each one with a different approach.  Abdullah is
lightning quick, and went through a couple of small holes so quickly, the
D-line didn't have time react.  Heard is much the same, but lacks Ameer's
first step, I'd say.  Then Cross, well, there's a guy that will go at you
if he needs to.  His carries at the end of the game were punishing.  Much
like Burkhead but without his shiftiness.

And Marrow at fullback is a guy I'd try to avoid.  Definitely runs downhill.

I'm more comfortable with a game without Burkhead this year than I would
have been last year.  I'd rather not, but I'd rather see Rex run later this
year if available rather than use him up next week.

Now, how good was that UCLA running game, or, how bad was that Rice run
defense?  There's a question for discussion.
