It sounded like Heard tweaked his groin muscle. He could have played but they did not want to push it. Cross may not have played much for fear of picking up a blitz.

I'd agree he'll be needed, but I do doubt we'll see him Saturday.  My
bigger concern is that we didn't see Heard last Saturday, and Cross
only had a few looks.  Abdullah had the vast majority of carries.  If
we have such a heavy load of good backs, why aren't we seeing more of
them?  The situation was similar before Burkhead went down, several
games where it was all Rex.  I guess I don't understand.
