Very well may be. That would be reasonable, otherwise someone could miss the
first several games a season and then play in the last few & call it a
medical redshirt.  

I would be shocked to see NU want a redshirt, even if it is available.

Isn't there also a requirement that none of the games occur after the middle
of the season?  Rex had a few plays in the Northwestern game, which was the
7th game of the season.  

But I agree that Nebraska's not looking for a medical redshirt for him and
he's likely to see action in the next week or two.
