If I understand the rules for a medical redshirt, he can play in 30%
(rounding up) of the games,  if NU goes to the B1G Champ game, then, 30% of
14 is 4.9 games (rounded up to 5). 

But I do not think anyone is thinking a medical redshirt. I would not be
surprised to see him this week.

Seems kind of silly to risk him any more harm this season if he potentially
needs a surgery and significant time to get back to 100%.   Has anyone heard
anything?

According to the stats page on espn.com, Rex has participated in 5 games
this season.
