I'm really out of my depth in this discussion, but if he's lined up
in the backfield, presumably it wouldn't matter if he picked his hand
up and moved (unless there was other movement). If so, maybe that even
could be used to draw the other team offsides (although kind of risky
unless the tackle is far enough back to surely be off the line of
scrimmage, which seems to be a little subjective in today's game).
