Steve, as has already been said I think you hit the nail on the head. We've
shed coaches who have gone on to prove that yes, they truly can coach at
the college level (hah hows that as a qualifying statement? :). We will are
not likely places for a mercenary coach to want to settle as its more work
in Nebraska than most places to fill the sidelines with top 10 talent.

There are times when I've really enjoyed watching the 2012 team and it
reminds me of my 1967 Buick Grand Sport. When I tuned the points and gapped
the spark plugs just right it ran like a dream. Often however when I hit
the gas I'd find one or more things that car needed to run like it was
capable were out of tune and the engine would sputter, misfire or just
plain poop out. When it was firing on all cylinders however the rumble and
roar made it an amazing machine.

Personally I think Nebraska used Northwestern as a tuning mechanism for
Michigan. If you look at the offensive stats and tendencies they are
remarkably similar. Denard Robinson has not lit up the competition through
the air and right now I'd take TM over him as an overall offensive leader
and player. Seeing the fourth quarter drives yesterday was a work of art.

The point of all this? Maybe, just maybe like my 67 Buick the Husker's
points and plugs are tuned for a good race with the great MeatChicken.
Having said that I've probably doomed them.
