First of all...great win by the Huskers. Love a win, no matter how it
comes.
That all said, here are my initial observations:
1. Pass defense is not good. Corners were burned often, but NW QB
could not hit the open receivers. Got lucky.
2. LB play was sporadic. Great at times, totally absent other times
3. Front four just don't penetrate well enough. They have the size and
the speed. I don't understand it. Are they trying to contain, rather
than pursue? Has me baffled.
4. I don't normally call out names of players that are performing
poorly, but I just don't get why Sirles is still playing. He makes a
ton of mental mistakes and gets beaten a lot. Is there no one that can
step up and take his spot?
5. Great job of coaching by Joe Ganz. TM was starting to lose it, and
Joe got him to settle down. Game ball goes to Mr. Ganz.
6. If Antonio Bell gets in another game, I'd be surprised. 'nuff said.
Final observation. Once again, the coaches had the team ready to play.
However, once the turnovers started, they started to fall apart. Is
this team built on a house of cards?
