Get used to it! Northwestern isn't a gimmee any more. At this point, I think both
teams have problems in the defensive secondary, it could be a high scoring affair
in Evanston.

I actually made a similar comment about the records of Northwestern's opponents on
the Northwestern list yesterday. Is a 5-0 Northwestern really better than a (now)
unranked Wisconsin or Michigan State, or that much better than Frank Solich's Ohio squad?

I'm not so sure, but the next few weeks should sort things out. Northwestern plays a
resurging Penn State team this week in Happy Valley, then at Minnesota. Then the Huskers
and the Hawkeyes come to Evanston. Afte a bye week, Northwestern finishes the season with
games at Michigan and Michigan State and finally hosting Illinois in the Land of Lincoln
trophy game.

In an odd bit of scheduling, I think FIVE teams have a bye the week before they face
Northwestern this season, including Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska and Michigan State.

The Big Ten has already announced that they will be limiting the number of times that can
happen in future conference schedules.
