KU has a HUGE presence in KC. More than MU or KSU.

Kansas doesn't bring a lot of TV sets to the table. (They don't have a big
following in the KC metro area, though one could make the same argument about
Rutgers and NYC, I suppose.)
I wonder if college football might wind up following the lead of the major pro
sports and allow a 16 team conference to have conference semi-finals before the
conference championships?
Think of a conference that consists these divisions:
Nebraska
Iowa
Minnesota
Illinois
Wisconsin
Northwestern
Purdue
School 1 to be named later
Michigan
Penn State
Rutgers
Indiana
Ohio State
Michigan State
Maryland
School 2 to be named later
Nebraska might play Wisconsin in one semifinal game while Michigan and
Ohio State play in the other semifinal.
