Correct me if I'm wrong, but if somehow UCLA defeats Stanford this Saturday,
the Huskers will get a chance to play UCLA again. How many times has a team
played two different teams twice in one season?

Talk about a rollercoaster ride...

I'd like the Huskers to be able to beat the same team twice in one season.
They haven't done that since 1896 (or something like that).

The ones I can remember are
1978 Oklahoma (won in the season, lost in the Orange Bowl)
1999 Texas (lost in the regular season, won in the Big XII Championship)
2010 Washington (won in the regular season, lost in the Holiday Bowl)

There are probably others, but I can't remember them offhand.
