[Husker] Martinez Co-Offensive Player of the Week, Time set for Mi nnesota

FWIW, I thought Wisconsin was his worst game of the season, as he repeatedly made bad throws that his receivers managed to snag.  He won player of the week honors that week as well.

Fair enough on the ‘punt’ interception.

I just think an argument could be made is all.

Mike also brought up Indiana’s Coffman…seemed to have a really good game and it’s against Iowa (you get extra points for me playing well against Iowa).

I’m not totally against Martinez getting it, but I’m also pretty aware that while Martinez clearly was a catalyst for the win with his running and 4th quarter passing, he was also a good part of the reason it was close.

Of his performances this season, this was not one of his best IMO.

The second interception on the deep pass to Enunwa was thrown from the Nebraska side of the field, so it's not fair to consider that a legitimate scoring opportunity.  In fact, it was closer to a punt than a lost scoring opportunity.

Fair statement about the other two turnovers, though.

You also must remember that Martinez probably had more than twice the touches that Bell had.  I don't have the stat sheet handy, but Martinez probably had 50 touches where Bell was probably closer to 20.

Please expand on one lost fumble at midfield being the same as 3 INTs all taking away legitimate scoring opportunities (@MSU 32, @MSU 25, and @MSU 4 yard lines).  Thanks.

Since Daimion Stafford stripped him of the ball, Le'Veon Bell is ineligible for the same reason that people are bagging on Martinez.

Maybe Bell from MSU?

So.... how 'bout the same here.

This week, it's easy for y'all negataylors, you just pick the co-winner and make him the full award winner. The co-winner was receiver Cody Latimer of Indiana, who caught all three touchdowns, having 113 yards. Comparatively a pretty easy job - catch the ball or not catch the ball.

Who else in the Big Ten was even close to Martinez? Anyone?

And no, he wasn't honored for having a career setting day. He was honored because he lead his team back from 10 points down in the fourth quarter, ran for over 200 yards, only the seventh 200-yrd rushing performance in the Big Ten this season.

How 'bout you negataylors just come out and admit something for me. You don't like the kid because he sucks horribly in front of a camera. He's like that ADHD kid who's on meds. You're talking to him and he's off somewhere thinking about what parts of a pine tree might be edible.

Oh if only everyone were Rex Burkhead!
