> I thought that the questionable interference call at the end of the game evened out the poor calls that favored each team. Up to that point, Michigan State was benefiting from poor calls. While it led to an a Husker win, Nebraska was close enough even without it to force overtime, so it may not have mattered in the end. The officiating was very poor and I recall Mike Nolan warning us on this list of how poor the B1G refs are.
A minor correction. What I said was that there were lots of complaints
by fans about Big Ten officiating, at a point when List members were
complaining about Big 12 officiating, pointing out that the grass might
not be greener on the other side of the fence. I do think that the Big
Ten office has been more diligent over the years in monitoring its
officials than some other conferences.
Pass interference seems to be called a lot more often in every conference
this season, and it does appear that anything beyond incidental contact
out of bounds will draw the flag. (And I thought that hit was beyond
incidental contact.)
FWIW, I was screaming at the TV for them to kick the field goal, too.
