[Husker] dumb officiating

Matt Davison made the same comment about the band being on the field and
putting them in the stands.

I still stand by my comments. The bad calls evened out by the end of
the game, and Nebraska caught some huge breaks, but that doesn't change
my attitude. Pass interference seems to get called about half the time
there is a defender and a receiver going after the football
simultaneously. If there is any contact at all, it draws a flag. If
you so much as lay a finger on an offensive player after he goes out of
bounds, it is a 15 yard penalty. I understand the need to protect
players, but it's gotten to a point where penalties are having more of
an impact on the outcome of football games than any point in it's
history. It takes a lot of enjoyment out of the game when the officials
have so much control over the outcome.

Also, whose bright idea was it to put Nebraska's band right on the
sideline in that shoebox stadium? It seems to me that most of the "late
hit" penalties would have been a non-issue if there was more than 5 feet
of space on the sideline. There were at least 5,000 empty seats in
that stadium today....I'm sure they could have fit Nebraska's band
somewhere.
