[Husker] Basketball: Tim Miles vs John Groce

Not a BB guy, in fact I don't even watch the sport. Even if all the other
channels are filled with a Little House on the Prairie Marathon.
However, I find it interesting how people are interpreting the pay thing
with Groce and Miles. My read was Groce was not interested in NU, even for
more money. I know that NU is spending a lot of money on BB, but maybe the
problem is not money.
I attended Auburn in the late 1980's. They had a run at BB (the ground
round of rebound played there, or something like that LOL). However, it
couldn't compete with football, and really nobody cared about it. Tickets
were free to students...still are, and they couldn't put butts in seats. So
all the players and coaches went away.
My point being, I wonder if it is the lack of a large passionate BB fan
base that makes a major college BB coach think twice about risking his
reputation on developing a program at NU. Maybe it ain't just about
money...I know I am naive.
