Hmmmmmm.....
Well, when the hire came across, I made an apathetic comment on twitter, and received some emails from guys I know who know basketball a lot better than I do who told me that Miles was a good hire and Nebraska was lucky to get him. (The references came from a couple basketball schools that Nebraska doesn't play). So... based on their feedback, I'll reserve judgement.
However.... I find it strange that people make the comment "I trust Osborne" when Osborne hisself stated he didn't know much about basketball. Perhaps he had advisors, then, right? Like Marc Boehm, who does something apparently worthwhile and collects a paycheck. There was no indication nor leak that Nebraska had hired a search firm.
So... here we are having hired a "nice guy" who "does it the right way" and all that stuff - things we haven't heard since Doc Sadler was hired.
With regards to someone who wants to be here.... I really could give a shit if they want to be at Nebraska or not. We don't have that luxury. If we hired a gunslinger for $3.5M a year and he got us into the upper eschelon of the B1G, he could leave and we'd be better off than we are right now.
I'll reserve judgement on Miles because, really, what other choice is there?
But, gee, we maintained the status quo apparently without much effort.
OH, YAY!
