Reportedly, Groce had already said he wasn't interested in the Nebraska job.  Almost all of the Ohio team returns next season, so if they have another good season, there will be plenty of offers next season.

Personally, I would have gone back and tried again.  I imagine that Osborne probably did just that, but I get the feeling that it wasn't going to change things.   I still would have waited until after Ohio's season ended and tried again.

Or maybe he heard Danny Nee say yesterday that Nebraska needs to hire someone who wants this job, and decided why wait for a guy who has to be talked into considering it.

Possibly, but until he's done with the current season, I doubt he'd
even respond to inquiries.  And if his team beats #1 seed UNC tonight,
other schools may come calling.
