FWIW, Gonzaga is now 10-0 with wins over NU, KU, Illinois x2, Lamar x2,
UTSA, and Louisianna Lafayette. They also happen to be the #2 RPI team
(which means almost nothing this early).
Here's a few things to think about:
Zags series:
============
Starters ERA: 3.00 (5 runs in 15 innings)
Relievers ERA: 9.00 (12 runs in 12 innings)
9th inning: 21.00 ERA (7 runs in 3 innings)
Batting Avg: .283 (30 hits in 106 ABs)
Scoring: 5.3 rpg (16 runs in 3 games)
Post Zags:
============
Starters ERA: 3.62 ERA (13 runs in 32 1/3 innings)
Relievers ERA: 2.43 ERA (8 runs in 29 2/3 innings)
9th inning: 0.00 ERA (0 runs in 6 innings)
Batting Avg: .333 (84 hits in 252 ABs)
Scoring: 7.43 rpg (52 runs in 7 games)
Totals:
============
Starters ERA: 3.42 ERA (18 runs in 47 1/3 innings)
Relievers ERA: 4.32 ERA (20 runs in 41 2/3 innings)
9th inning: 7.00 ERA (7 runs in 9 innings)
Batting Avg: .318 (114 hits in 358 ABs)
Scoring: 6.80 rpg (68 runs in 10 games)
Other:
============
- Travis Huber (1.80 ERA), Dylan Vogt (1.35 ERA), Aaron Bummer (0.00 ERA),
Ryan Hander (0.00 ERA) have been the stars of the bullpen so far. The 4
combined for 2 runs over 17 innings (1.06 ERA). They've also combined for 12
Ks over the same stretch.
- Hirsch has far and away been the team's strikeout leader with 14ks in 17
2/3 innings. Next closest is Lemke (7) and Keller (7).
- 10 regular position players have yet to commit an error (Scheffert,
Christensen, Burleson, Stock, Kash, Sanguinetti, Stucky, Headley, Kiser, and
Darby) and Bryan Peters only has 1.
- Obviously, since the Zags series, the team is 6-1.
