Well, as I wrote last year, it seems like the Cubs have been playing
like a team that has rickets rather than one that is owned by the
Ricketts.

But I do recall the time I was driving through the Chicago area in
a late May/early June time frame and heard a radio spot that
went something like this:

   (springtime music playing in background)
   Ah, springtime in Chicago.  The flowers blooming in Grant Park,
   the sailboats on Lake Michigan, the Cubs are mathematically 
   eliminated from the pennant....

Darned if I can remember the rest of the ad, though, I was laughing
too hard to hear it.
