CBS News recanted the rumor it announce in the major media world that Joe Paterno Died in Jan 22 2012 of a Chemo complication.  They took it strictly as a rumor from Onward State, a student newspaper at PSU that denied publishing the rumor as well.  After CBS announced his death, Jay and Scott Paterno Tweeted that their Father was not dead, but "still fighting"...
Did this Mafia Don have a staged funeral or what?  Was there really a body or authentic Corners report? Was this death rumor just a way to avoid investigation/prosecution?
It is quite coincidental that he was "reported" dead on the birth of his fall from his self -created media throne. This guy was real shady in life, and no one has proven if he's really dead yet either.

It is against their previous rulings, but the President of the NCAA clearly
stated in press releases that the Death Penalty was on the table for PSU.
Maybe when he got to talking about it cooler heads prevailed. Though it is
hard to blame the NCAA, PSU has become a flashpoint.

However, I would argue that it would be just as appropriate, and far more
damaging for the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools to
review their accreditation. In my opinion, this was an institutional
problems that involved sports. It was not a rogue football coach or AD. It
was a University President that couldn't do what he was legally mandated to
do because he felt pressure from a football coach. I don't think that is
football's problem, nor really do I see it as JoPa's problem (even though
he also made poor choices). But ultimately the University's reputation and
future are on the President's shoulders. In that way, I agree with the
message the NCAA is sending. I just don't know if they were the appropriate
body to send it.
