[Husker] Penn State's Penalties

I haven't read or seen anything other than this thread, but here's what I'm
guessing the rationale was: The President of the University and the
Athletic Director have a fiduciary responsibility to maintain oversight and
control of all aspect of the football program...of which the Head Coach is
a part. When the Head Coach becomes so powerful as to overshadow the AD or
President (or conspire with them to commit / cover up a crime) that is the
worst kind of lack of institutional control.

This wasn't about Sandusky's crimes...it was about forcing Universities and
Athletic Departments to reassess the balance of power to ensure that this
kind of power inversion (which makes possible the cover ups and other
crimes) will never happen again.
