[Husker] What about McQuery?

no, No, NO!!! This line of thinking is very dangerous and leads good
people to allow evil deeds to go unpunished.

By going to Paterno, McQuery treated a heinous crime against society as
though it was merely a crime against the football program. By doing
nothing when Paterno and university did not call the police, McQuery
repeated that terrible mistake.

The main point of my initial email is that we (society) must stop
treating college athletes and coaches as members of a team first, then
the university, and only then as a member of society. Similarly we
should not view priests as members of the parish first, diocese second,
Catholic church third, and society last. Let the nature of the crime
guide who you inform, not the perpetrator’s (or your) membership. If you
suspect someone of abusing children, you do not go to the coach, church,
or anywhere other than the police.
