By that logic, everyone who had money invested with Bernie Madoff should have gone to jail with him. Same goes for all victims of ponzi schemes over the past couple of years. You could extend that to anyone who's had an elected government official commit a crime, 

In your world sooner or later, everyone is damned, and you damn them by pulling a tiny chunk of a Proverb that has to do with rejecting knowledge of God, not knowledge of heinous acts and failing to stop them. That requires knowledge in the first place, something that didn't exist in this case.... but, hey, don't let it stop you from using that everywhere else.
