Where is it written that all Nebraska *Football* fans must also be NU
Wrestling, VB, Swim, Croquette, Archery, etc. fans as well?

I enjoyed my time at the university, was happy to move out of the state (no
offense, just not my fav place to live), I loathe the sport of basketball
no matter who is playing, but I LOVE Cornhusker football!

I don't feel the need to get all excited about the other school sports, nor
do I feel any guilt or embarrassment for not caring.

Obviously I'm not alone on this list in my apathy for non-football UN
sports. However, it seems many feel we should always go "rah, rah, rah" for
each and every activity somebody participates in while wearing scarlet and
cream.

Am I alone in feeling it's perfectly okay to be just a Husker Football fan?

PS- I posted to the list previously looking for a place in London to watch
the bowl game. We eventually found a small sports-like bar where you can
only comfortably hold a table if there is food in front of you- otherwise
you're expected to give your seat to newly arrived patrons, so it wasn't
all that great a place to watch the game. Also, it was on one smallish
screen with no sound while four others with volume at full blast showed the
Arsenal vs Fulham football (the round kind) match.

The benefit to it all was we left at halftime and were spared having to
directly witness the 2nd half meltdown.

Anyway, for those who enjoy hearing about small-world coincidences; we were
sitting at a table with an SC graduate and an Iowan who adopted the
Huskers, long ago forsaking his native Cyclones. But as we were leaving, a
gentleman roughly in his 50s was also on his way out the door asked me if I
was 'really from Nebraska'. I said yes, and he told me he now lives in
Kearney. He could hardly believe me when I told him I was born in Kearney
and we shared with some of our English friends just how small a town
Kearney actually is.

Goes to show, there's practically always a Husker or two around, no matter
where you go- even if it's a little back-street bar in Soho, London or on a
tropical island.
