My fatigue is all the belly aching about yet another decent season for the Huskers. What in the heck to people want? There were a lot teams that went 7-6 with bowl wins (and a lot that went 6-7 with their losses).
Michigan had a magical season, beating Nebraska and Ohio State back to back in the regular season and winning a BCS game to give them what I found to be a surprising 5th 11 win season. Heck with South Carolina's win, it was their first ever 11 win season.
Granted that Nebraska has not yet won 11 games under Coach Pelini, but Nebraska did go 4-2 against Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, and Penn State. That is pretty good to me.
I am sick and tired of we fans that grouse about every loss as if it were the end of the world. We have to remember that Coach Pelini has perhaps the best coaching mentor in the business in his AD, Dr. Tom Osborne.
And as Coach Pelini is emotional, Tom Osborne was stoic. Tom Osborne started showing more emotion when Nebraska started the greatest run in college football history. And I truly believe that Coach Pelini will learn to tone down his emotions.
He was upset that Alfonzo Dennard got ejected when he confronted the officials about what he believed was South Carolina punching Nebraska players. And I seem to recall an incident last season where he spoke passionately to Taylor Martinez and was lambasted by the media and we fans for it. So he cannot win for trying.
Last year's Holiday Bowl was not good, but Nebraska had a great bowl the year before. So, Coach Pelini is 2-2 in bowl games. South Carolina is a good team and they were essentially in the their own back yard. And I believe that Coach Spurrier had more lose in the game than Coach Pelini, as Nebraska had already walloped what was the best team in the country behind Nebraska in the 1996 Fiesta Bowl.
I am fatigued with the so-called 'greatest' fans in the nation whining and complaining about a young team that has just entered a new conference that had a good season. Enough is enough.
I for one am supporting Coach Pelini and his football team 100%.
Go B1G Red!
