I didn't.  I said SPECIFICALLY that Carl would be finding another 'home'
because of issues between the two.  I suppose I just guessed that Carl would

I believe you actually claimed that Carl would be fired. In the absence of
any evidence that he was, I'd say you were dead wrong.
