[Husker] Raymond to LSU

Because I love some arguments just for the sake of themselves....

Even if he didn't interview or seriously consider the Miami job, the fact
that Miami (an "name brand" BCS school) was interested in him may have been
enough to trip the "give him some more money because we don't want to lose
him to another school" switch.

If you're doing threat analysis, just because Bo wasn't interested in THIS
job, at THIS time (or that & then depending on how I structure my grammar)
doesn't mean that the THREAT of losing him hasn't been increase by the mere
fact of a BCS school being interested in him. If you're the AD, you want
to minimize any possible future threat by incentivizing (why doesn't my
spell check like that word??) your head coach to have less reason to be
interested in another position due to salary. Obviously due to budgeting
and other (probably political) considerations, even if you wanted your head
coach to stay forever, you can only raise a salary so much.

And obviously there's a whole slew of issues, concerns, incentives, etc
that go beyond the scope of cash that either cause a coach to stay or go.
The draw of coaching at your alma mater is one that hard to compete
against, as we saw with Raymond.
